Save the date : "Close the Glass Loop" partners to launch European recycling action platform, with Commissioner Sinkevičius
30th June 2020, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm (online)
Thursday, June 11, 2020 —
Sustainability is high on the public agenda, and packaging is no exception. This year, stakeholders throughout the glass collection and recycling value chain have joined forces to shape a material stewardship programme for more bottle-to-bottle recycling – connecting businesses, brands, retailers, municipalities, EPR schemes and associations alike, at European and national level.
The European ‘Close the Glass Loop’ Platform is set to increase the quantity and quality of available recycled glass to ensure our Circular Economy works better for all. Join us online on 30 June to hear how organisations across Europe plan to work together to collect 90% of all glass packaging placed on the EU market by 2030.
The online launch of the European Platform will feature keynote speeches from:
- Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius - European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries
- Michel Giannuzzi - President of the European Container Glass Federation (FEVE)
- 3 high-level representatives from national Close the Glass Loop platforms.
This will be followed by an official ceremony in the presence of all partners of the European Close the Glass Loop Platform.
